Algemeen

Om een meer 'mellow' sound uit uw akoestische basgitaar te halen kunt u flatwounds gebruiken, of een set Thomastik AB344 Acoustic Bass-snaren. Deze hoogwaardige snarenset bestaat uit een fosforbronzen wikkeling rond een kern van nylon strengen (Nyloncore). Het resultaat is een 'smooth' en organische, contrabas-achtige klank. Tevens krijgen deze akoestische bassnaren hierdoor een lage snaarspanning en voelen ze dus een stuk soepeler aan dan traditionele roundwound akoestische basgitaarsnaren. De Thomastik AB344 Acoustic Bass leent zich voor zowel long scale akoestische basgitaren als solid body bassen met een piezo-element.

Deze snaren heb ik gekocht voor mijn nieuwe Takamine akoestische bas. De standaard snaren die er af fabriek op zaten klonken erg slecht (te veel bijgeluiden en een scherpe metaal-achtige toon). Deze klinken erg warm en laten de bas goed tot zijn recht komen.

Ik hou van de zachte en warme klank die deze snaren op m'n Fender Kingman produceren, speelt lekker makkelijk wegens de dunne snaren.

These strings may be expensive, but there are no better for your acoustic bass. I’ve used them for over 15 years and would never consider any other. They are very light gauge so I’ve had to slacken the truss rod a lot, and the G string can “roll” a bit, but after a while you don’t notice it. Try them you won’t be disappointed.
