De Slate Digital ML-1A is een best-in-class grootmembraan condensatormicrofoon die gemaakt is om te werken met mic-modeling. Daarmee haal je een complete ‘mic locker’ naar je studio zonder een kast vol kwetsbare klassiekers. Of je nu vocals, gitaar of voice-over opneemt: je legt een solide basis vast en kiest daarna pas de kleur en vibe die het beste in je productie past. Zo werk je sneller, consistenter en met veel meer opties dan met één vaste microfoonklank.
Mic-modeling met VMS
Koppel de ML-1A aan de Virtual Microphone System (VMS) plugin en je krijgt toegang tot een collectie van legendarische buizen-, condensator- en ribbon-microfoons als modellen. Standaard krijg je 18 mic models (waaronder de Radio France Signature collection) en via Complete Access is dit uit te breiden. Extra creatief: je kunt twee microfoonmodellen blenden tot een eigen hybride sound. Ook handig is “Mono In, Stereo Out” om mono-opnames breed te maken, terwijl het geheel mono-compatible blijft.
Flexibele controle en platform-compatibiliteit
Met de VMS plugin kun je ook na de opname nog finetunen: pas de proximity effect aan, regel de intensiteit van de kleuring en voeg analoge warmte toe met selecteerbare virtuele preamps en saturatie. Qua software zit je goed op zowel macOS als Windows, met ondersteuning voor de gangbare plugin-formaten. Licenties en activatie lopen via iLok (Cloud, iLok 2/3 of Machine-ID, afhankelijk van je licentie). Zo integreert de ML-1A soepel in vrijwel elke moderne DAW-setup.
