Algemeen
Studio-engineers, instrumentalisten en vocalisten hebben er regelmatig mee te maken. Een ruimte die niet ideaal is voor opnames maar die toch gebruikt moet worden. Reflectiefilters kunnen de grootste problemen oplossen maar dit is verre van ideaal. Kaotica heeft hier een simpele doch doeltreffende oplossing voor: de Eyeball. Dit product is een combinatie van een reflectiefilter en een popscreen. U plaatst de Eyeball over de microfoon waarbij de microfoon geïsoleerd wordt van de ruimte waarin hij staat. Ideaal voor mobiele toepassingen!
Kaotica Eyeball: praktisch en oogstrelend
Waarom het op te nemen geluid isoleren van de ruimte? Het geluid dat wordt opgenomen bestaat voor 30 – 50 % uit ruimtelijk geluid. De ruimte is dus verantwoordelijk voor een groot deel van de klank. Wanneer de ruimte niet optimaal is kan deze klank dus behoorlijk worden aangetast. De Eyeball is hier voor een doeltreffende oplossing omdat hij de microfoon volledig isoleert. Bovendien zit een performer niet tegen een groot reflectiefilter/scherm aan te kijken maar tegen een filter dat slecht iets groter is dan de microfoon. Dit is positief voor de communicatie!
Popscreen
Plopkappen, popscreens of ook wel windfilters zijn bijna altijd nodig. Omdat er dicht bij de microfoon wordt gezongen zijn de zogenaamde plofklanken erg dominant en kunnen behoorlijk destructief zijn voor uw mix. Om dit te voorkomen wordt er gebruik gemaakt van een popscreen. De Kaotica Eyeball is hier echter al van voorzien! Het blauwe gedeelte (het oog) is te gebruiken als popscreen. Wanneer u gebruik maakt van een popfilter is het ook mogelijk om het blauwe gedeelte weg te halen.
Tips of opmerkingen over dit product- Let op: De getoonde microfoons dienen slechts ter illustratie en worden niet meegeleverd. Alleen de Kaotica Eyeball wordt geleverd.

Dit is een kwalitatief hoogwaardig product.
Naast dat het mooi oogt doet het precies waar het voor gemaakt is.
- Het product neemt weinig ruimte in (integenstelling tot meeste reflectie schermen)
- makkelijk in gebruik en te installeren ( je schuift het product makkelijk over je microfoon heen.
- nadeel (Is de opname te luid dan ontstaat er een box effect op je stem)
Zeker een aanrader voor de slaapkamer of reizende producer.

Werkt opzienbarend goed. Ik gebruik hem ook op locatie. Alleen in erg galmende ruimtes werkt ie minder goed. Ik gebruik hem vooral voor voice-over. Goed dood geluid. Prima te gebruiken. Het enige wat nodig is is een stille omgeving. De acoustiek regelt de Kaotica wel.

Ondanks de 'erg' hoge kosten voor een bol schuim, doet de Eyeball waar hij voor bedoeld is. Ik hoef nu niet mijn hele thuisstudio te 'soundproof-en'. Vocale opnames klinken voller en zijn makkelijker in de mix te zetten. Ook elimineert de eyeball een groot deel van de omgevingsgeluiden (in mijn geval trams en verkeer). Ik gebruik hem met een Blue Cactus, deze is eigenlijk iets te groot voor de Eyeball, maar past nog steeds!

Net drie dagen binnen en dus net op tijd besteld ;) had echt geen drie weken willen wachten op deze fraaie Eyeball van Kaotica.
Ik snap heel goed dat hij goed verkocht wordt want ondanks dat ik hem nog maar kort heb kunnen testen hoorde ik zeker al dat hij doet waar ik hem voor gekocht heb. De ruimte waar ik hem gebruik is een open voorkamer (2.40 x 1.60) bij mijn slaapkamer die nog niet bewerkt is met akoestische panelen. Het liefst zou ik een aparte Vocal booth willen bouwen in deze ruimte maar dacht mijzelf voorlopig een hoop geld en werk te besparen door de eyeball te kopen. Bij de eerste tests merkte ik meteen dat ik het achtergrond geluid wat ik normalite zo goed als niet meer hoor. Bij zingen met hoger volume hoorde ik nog wel wat reflecteren maar dat vond ik niet zo erg. Vond mijn vocalen ook heel duidelijk een stuk voller klinken. Had dit niet verwacht! Voor mij is deze Eyeball zeker het geld wel waard. Topper!!

molto pratiche in situazioni critiche, pratica e leggera. I contro sono che il suono ne risulta a mio parere molto colorato, sia dal pop filter che ha un doppio rivestimento e forse basterebbe singolo, sia dal sistema stesso, io ho trovato come una sorta di comb filtering rispetto al microfono senza eyeball.
