Algemeen
De Gretsch Tennessean Hollow Body is een legendarisch model, beroemd geworden door enkele van 's werelds meest iconische artiesten. Dankzij de ingetogen elegantie en de spelergerichte kenmerken brengt de Professional Collection Tennessee Rose de klassieke Gretsch-klank tot leven in een betrouwbaar en no-nonsense ontwerp. Zo is er gekozen voor een palissander (rosewood) toets met afgeronde toetsranden en handige Luminlay side dots. Daarnaast kunt je gebruik maken van de Adjusto-Matic brug met string-thru Bigsby B6CP staartstuk om subtiele vibrato-effecten aan je spel toe te voegen. De Gretsch Tennessean Hollow Body wordt gemaakt in Japan en komt inclusief Gretsch G6241 Deluxe Hardshell Case.
Professional Collection Tennessean met Filter'Tron elementen
De Gretsch Tennessean is uitgerust met een set PRO-FT Filter'Tron-elementen, die zorgen voor de iconische Gretsch-sound. Deze elementen combineren de sprankelende helderheid en nauwkeurige articulatie van een single-coil met de warme klank en kracht van een humbucker. Hierdoor zijn ze breed inzetbaar, van genres zoals rockabilly en country tot rock en jazz. De master volumeregeling is voorzien van een treble bleed-circuit, waardoor de klank helder blijft, zelfs bij lagere volumestanden. Daarnaast beschikt de gitaar over een no-load toonregeling: wanneer de knop volledig wordt opengedraaid (stand 10), wordt de toonpotentiometer volledig uitgeschakeld. Dit zorgt voor een meer open klank en behoud van hoge frequenties.

The 30 day no quibble returns policy meant that I had peace of mind in that I could return the guitar free of charge, had I not liked or got on with it, however…
The guitar itself is stunning, the sunburst on my guitar is darker and not as orange as in the stock photographs.
Before buying the guitar I wasn’t too sure about the gold pickup rings and pick guard (when the main hardware is chrome) thinking I might swap them out for silver ones but in the flesh, and with the darker sunburst the gold actually works rather well.
I was looking for a Gretsch after regretting selling a previous one (a G6118T-LTV 125th Anniversary) just after lockdown - I love the Gretsch sound and the Annie had it in spades, this guitar had a lot to live up to! I wasn’t disappointed, the new PRO-FT filtertron pickups give me the sound I was hoping for. As with the Annie, I find it an easy guitar to play (although I will get the action lowered slightly at some point), the fingerboard is different being rosewood and bound, the Annie had an ebony fingerboard which I think I preferred, but it’s not enough to put me off.
The build quality is second to none as it is with all of the Pro Series Gretsch models.
I’m over the moon with this guitar and look forward to putting it through its paces in the near future!
