Algemeen
De NUX Optima Air is een akoestische gitaarsimulator die een voorversterker voor akoestische en elektrische gitaar bevat. Er zijn twee voetschakelaars, namelijk een IR-voetschakelaar en een AMP-schakelaar. Deze laatste activeert de voorversterker, met behulp van de IR-footswitch schakel je een geselecteerd IR-bestand in of uit. Dit toestel simuleert akoestische gitaren op een optimale manier, afhankelijk van je gitaar en pickuptype. De voorversterker is uitgerust met een 3-bands EQ en Gain-regelaar. En er is ook een extra Reverb-effect. Verder kan je ook je eigen IR-bestanden creëren door de sound van je favoriete akoestische gitaar op te nemen. Er is een XLR DI-uitgang voor bijvoorbeeld een mengpaneel, een hoofdtelefoonuitgang en een aux-ingang om eventueel een muziekspeler aan te sluiten.

Een fantastische aankoop. De presets vind ik persoonlijk slecht. Hierdoor geef ik het een sterretje minder. Waarom toch vier sterren? Je kunt namelijk je eigen sounds uploaden. Gemakkelijk aan te sluiten op je Pc/laptop. Ik beschik over een paar goeie sounds en kon die heel eenvoudig toevoegen. Hierdoor kan ik veel betere opnames maken voor mijn akoestische gitaar. De kamer waarin ik opnames doe is niet zo super qua akoestiek maar dankzij deze pedaal is dat geen probleem. Live heb ik het nog niet uitgetest.
