Algemeen
Er is weer uitbreiding voor de bekende Volca-familie van Korg. Ditmaal verwelkomt het merk de Volca Nubass, een synthesizer speciaal voor bassen. Deze Volca biedt iets speciaals; twee nutube-buizen, eentje voor de hoofd-oscillator en eentje voor de sub-oscillator. Het effect van deze buizen zal menigeen bekend in de oren klinken: een warme toon waar het karakter vanaf druipt. Natuurlijk hoort er een filter op dit apparaat te zitten, en deze filter is meteen een bijzondere. Het is niet louter een sweep van dof/donker naar bright, de kleuring is veel interessanter dan dat. Het maakt de Nubass uitermate geschikt voor Acid House en Techno. Dergelijke patroontjes maak je met de ingebouwde step-sequencer, waarbij natuurlijk de klassieke functionaliteit uit de 303 niet ontbreekt. Tel daarbij op een meegeleverde verzameling Win/Mac-software, en je kunt gelijk muziek produceren!
Tips of opmerkingen over dit product- Deze Volca is ook zonder batterijen te gebruiken, in combinatie met de los verkrijgbare KA-350 adapter.

De Volca Nubass klinkt echt erg goed, het filter heeft een bredere range dan de Volca Bass, er zijn makkelijk veel verschillende (acid) basgeluiden uit te halen, sweet-spots zijn makkelijk te vinden. Het verschil tussen de beide golfvormen (square en saw) is minimaal en hoor je alleen bij bepaalde settings. De sequencer is erg makkelijk te programmeren en te varieren (slides en octave-shift). Je haalt er makkelijk 303-achtige sounds en wat meer moderne variaties daarop. Aanwinst!
