Algemeen
Toen de Proco RAT in de jaren 70 op de markt kwam, was het een van de meest heftige distortions ooit. Voor wie dat nog niet genoeg was ontwikkelde Proco de Turbo RAT, met een maximale output die maar liefst 2 keer hoger ligt dan de originele RAT distortion. Uiteraard voorzien van het RAT frequentiefilter. Hiermee voorkom je dat de hoge tonen te schel en onaangenaam gaan klinken. Door het nauwkeurige filter kun je, tijdens opnames of optredens de Turbo RAT zo instellen dat je altijd prima naar voren komt in de mix. Kortom, legendarische en brute high gain in een vrijwel onverwoestbare behuizing. Het klankkarakter van deze Turbo versie is een stuk meer open dan de oorspronkelijk RAT en daardoor is deze uitvoering zeer geschikt om te gebruiken met licht overstuurde gitaar- en zelfs basversterkers.

Vol vette distortion tot fuzz achtig geluid aan toe. Klinkt vooral mooi met buizen versterker, het effect komt naar mijn mening minder tot zijn recht bij transistor versterkers (dunner geluid). De behuizing en de knoppen zijn super stevig, de turbo Rat blijft ook goed op zijn plek staan. Prijs 3 dubbel waard.
