I have these speakers now for six months.
I use these monitors as hifi loudspeaker, not quite the intended use. Since these are my first active speakers I have no reference. I can only compare them with their passive predecessors, KEF Q100 and JBL Studio 540 bookshelf speakers.
In comparison, the RM-05s have superior dynamics, transparency and detail. It is especially noticeable with choral and orchestral works at high volume. The sound through my passive speakers seem to clog and choke, but the RM's remain crystal clear.
Stereo imaging is more solid, with somewhat more stage depth. Still no holographic imaging despite the coincident construction, but tbh the KEF couldn't do that either.
Low frequency extension is comparable with my previous passive speakers, but the bass is much more tight and powerful.
The RM-05's are hands-down the best speakers I had. At this price they are a bargain.

Amazing monitors for the price. As others have said the bass is not great (due to the dimensions) but this would be the same for all 5 monitors. This is easily sorted by checking on headphones however.

Sound is very nice clean, bass response is tight, you can hear kick bass well. These speakers work as good headphones, sound is very direct, type of forward as it appears close in front instead of somewhere far. Sound stage is quite limited compared to other speakers where there would be a wall of sound. Bass is limited as well, it doesn't go very deep and some low frequencies are becoming not clear due to narrow frequency response and that such small diameter speakers can't reproduce most low frequencies well. I wouldn't recommend it for studio production as sound comes out limited in bass line so it's not good for songs going below 50Hz or even higher despite what producer claim. RM-07 version on the other hand would be a great speaker I'm sure as bass is what these speakers are missing the most but the price is way to high, anyway RM-05 are good if you don't plan making songs with deep bass.
