There is no way on Earth I should enjoy this guitar. Ive had headless guitars - don't like 'em. Not a huge Tele fan and this is based on a Tele. I like fat round necks and this has a weird contour. I play with my thumb over the top for barre chords and as an anchor in solos and this is a fingers behind the neck guitar if I ever saw one. So Why 5-stars?
This is the lightest comfiest most versatile guitar I've ever had. It plays beautifully out of the box. I can play with my thumb over the top and its still comfortable. It rings like a bell. Tuning is rock solid - even when using the tremolo. Cherry on the top? THE STRAP BUTTON IS ON THE EDGE OF THE UPPER BOUT NOT STUCK ON THE BACK. (Why do Gibson put their ES335 buttons on the back - its a stupid ill-balanced place to anchor a strap and makes the guitar lean out).
I have had top-of-the-line Gibsons and Fenders and none of them are such a joy to play as this weird odd-ball. I am definitely 100% not Strandbergs target consumer and my playing style (Traditional Rock and Blues) is not at all where their player roster is at - but this is my favourite guitar ever. I don't like their Bodens because the button's at the back but I would buy another Strandberg Salen Trem in a heartbeat. Ola you're a genius!
