Sire Marcus Miller V5-4 Alder Natural basse électrique
This is an incredible bass, not only if we compare the quality to the price, but also over all. It's fairly light, the woods are beautiful, the neck is super comfortable and fast, the sound of the pickups is GREAT, great fingerstyle AND slap sound, magnificent harmonics, very nice tone control. The hardware (brigde, tuning keys...) is very good as well.
I opened it because it was not shielded, and the tone control made some buzz (this is common even in basses that cost 3 times this one, so not really a problem, I usually shield myself all the basses I buy). When I opened it to shield it I could see that the electronics job inside is VERY GOOD. The electric wires and the pots are of great quality and the electronic compartment is super tidy.
So, the only thing I had to do besides set it up to my taste (but the set up was already good for playing out of the box) was the shielding, the bass is a war machine.
If you are doubting if to buy a Sire bass because of all the active electronics options on the V3/V7 and so on models, THIS is the bass for you! I owned a V7 and it was a great bass, but too many knobs for me so I sold it! This one is PERFECT. It is really a beautiful instrument.
